The University of Wollongong main campus is on 204 acres with 94 permanent buildings including six student residences. The teaching, research and cultural life of the University is supported by state-of-the-art facilities, including an extensive library collection, an interactive Science Center,and Conservatorium of Music. The recently expanded Recreation and Aquatic Center provides excellent fitness and sporting facilities.

Students seek approval prior to the program start to enroll in subjects including Australian studies, arts, international relations and business, environment and ecology, medical and health sciences, media culture and communication, pre-law, psychology, public health, sustainability, and more.

Housing options vary by cost, meal plans, and services. Most offer half their rooms to international students, providing an opportunity to live with Australians and students from all over the world.

City transportation options include buses and the city rail. Within walking distance of campus are some of Australia's finest swimming and surfing beaches. Fifteen minutes from campus, the University Railway Station offers inexpensive travel to Sydney. The city of Wollongong is a large commercial, retail and industrial center with a population of over 320,000.
