Program Description

The IES Abroad Paris French Studies program offers internship opportunities, enrollment in IES Abroad courses and courses at several partner universities. The program provides opportunities to gain a meaningful cultural experience and a deeper knowledge of what it means to be a citizen of the world.

The French Studies Center is conveniently situated in Montparnasse within walking distance of the Latin Quarter. The Center includes a computer lab, student lounge, quaint garden, and wireless internet access. A thriving business district, the area is filled with market streets, artisan workshops, lively cafes, restaurants, and theaters where you have ample opportunity to experience the rich Parisian culture and refine your French speaking skills.

The 130-150 students who attend each year sign an agreement to speak only French. The program offers students several academic opportunities such as the mandatory French language course, the French-taught area studies courses, and the courses taught at local universities.

While the majority of students live with French families in the city and the surrounding suburbs, a limited number of apartments are also available in the 14th Arrondissement.

Application Requirements
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 Exceptions may be made for Juniors or Seniors.
