What is Included: Participating students will be assessed the cost of the host program’s tuition, room and board. Students will not receive Alma aid (including tuition exchange benefits, where applicable) for the semester off-campus, though they will be eligible for an additional term of Alma aid if they choose to stay on campus for a 9th term. Students can use any federal and state aid for which they are eligible toward the off-campus program. In the absence of an Alma tuition charge, a Registration Fee of $500 will be assessed to help cover administrative costs associated with processes and oversight.

Language majors who are studying abroad to fulfill a language program requirement will have the option of being assessed Alma tuition and receiving Alma aid (at the level they receive for on-campus enrollment) for up to one semester off campus or the fee structure described above (including access to a 9th term of aid if it is unused due to the off-campus experience).

All program related fees other than tuition such as room, board, books, etc. that are invoiced to Alma College will also be added to the Alma College student account.

Program Description

Located in the heart of the city, the Alliance Française of Nice combines cultural activities with studies, thanks to an exceptional location on the French Riviera. More than 1500 students each year from around the world attend this location. Students learn French under exceptional conditions: uncontested teaching quality, learning tools, and many 'plus' services. Their courses in French as a foreign language are offered for all levels. Under the direction of Alma college faculty, students choose general French courses, intensive or extensive workshops, professional French courses, or evening courses. Placement is based on the level of French attained during the placement test at arrival. Training and testing for DELF/DALF French language certification may also be provided depending on location and enrollment dates. Housing options vary depending on location and time of year, and include options such a host family, single or shared studio apartment, hotel, dorm, or student residence.
